Zara Gudnason is a writer and editor based in Naarm/Melbourne. Her work, which spans nonfiction and creative-critical research, considers parallel practices, form, and feeling as alternate methodologies for creative exploration. A PhD candidate at Deakin University and current editor of PEN Melbourne journal No Frontiers, her recent works have appeared in Meanjin, Matters Journal, SCUM Mag, and Right Now.
She is currently a Senior Communications Advisor at the Australian Financial Complaints Authority, bringing nearly a decade of strategic communications experience across corporate, not-for-profit, and media sectors, including senior roles at Commonwealth Bank where she specialised in large scale technology changes and internal communications.
Whether at her day job, editing or in creative practice, Zara approaches communicating, editing and writing with a curatorial lens to let ideas hang together and create meaning for audiences through new and sometimes surprising connections. She often finds herself asking, 'does this make sense?'
